| T1-Upstream | T2-Measurement | T3-Downstream | T4/T5-Training Courses |

The Upstream track of API Singapore 2012 will explore issues important to companies involved in exploration and production, to include operators, equipment manufacturers, and service providers in the global energy economy. Sessions will cover current issues relating to offshore operations, the upstream equipment specifications and the API Monogram program. A variety of industry subject matter experts from Asia and the United States will provide informative perspectives on a host of current topics.

The API product specifications and standards are recognized worldwide as the “go to” standards for producing and servicing reliable, quality upstream equipment in today’s oil and natural gas industry. As technical, environmental and safety challenges continue to evolve, the API product specifications, recommended practices, standards and programs will increasingly become an important, even critical, part of ensuring safety and reliability in operations, services and equipment. If you are a stakeholder involved in oil and natural gas exploration or production in today’s challenging environment, this is a conference you should not miss.

Downstream / ICP

Petroleum industry inspectors and other personnel responsible for assuring integrity and reliability of equipment will find tremendous value in attending the Individual Certification Program (ICP) track presentations.

This track will focus on API certification programs, inspection processes and other means of integrity assessment of pressure equipment, piping/pipelines and storage tanks.

Presentations were selected based on the best industry practices, as well as latest industry concerns. Presenters were selected based on their specific expertise.

Sessions include:

  • Risk Based Inspection
  • On-Stream Inspection Programs
  • Fitness for Service
  • Corrosion
  • High Temperature Hydrogen Attack
  • Weld Quality Evaluation Using Ultrasonics in Lieu of Radiography

Global Petroleum Measurement

The Global Petroleum Measurement track of API Singapore 2012 provides an overview of methods, equipment and procedures for measurement of oil and gas for custody transfer, bulk inventory control, and regulatory compliance applications. The topics selected will address a wide range of operations, from upstream, to mid-stream to downstream, covering oil and natural gas production facilities, bulk liquid terminals, pipelines, refineries, and marketing terminals. The seminar also covers methods and techniques for marine vessel(s) custody transfer measurement, cargo reconciliation and accountability.

The seminar describes, through presentations, applicable petroleum measurement standards developed and maintained by the API Committee on Petroleum Measurement (COPM).

API petroleum measurement standards are widely used in commercial trade, and followed by many companies as the basis for their company standards and practices. API petroleum measurement standards have become a market requirement in many areas of the global economy because they serve as a technical means to determine measurement accuracy procedural “best practices” for all participants. The API petroleum measurement standards cover flow metering, tank gauging, sampling, online and laboratory analysis, and calculation of quantities. Some of the API petroleum measurement standards are joint publications with other major standards development organizations, such as ASTM International, or have been used as the basis for the petroleum measurement standards published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Sessions include:

  • Dynamic Liquid Measurement — Flow metering, meter proving, and calculation of quantities
  • Static Measurement — Tank calibration, tank gauging
  • Calculations — Volume correction factors, procedures to calculate dynamic/static quantities
  • Sampling, Testing and Laboratory Analysis
  • Gas Measurement — Natural gas and gas fluids, electronic flow measurement
  • Production Measurement — Production and allocation measurement
  • Marine Measurement — Measurement onboard marine vessels, marine cargo reconciliation and voyage analysis, and cargo inspection.

Training Courses

The conference registration fee includes two optional training courses on:

1. API Specification 6A

This two-day course covers all aspects of API Specification 6A/ISO 10423, Specification for Wellhead and Christmas Tree Equipment. The seminar covers current information on all sections of the specification, and includes a special briefing on the NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 specification as it relates to API 6A products.

2. API Specification Q1

This two-day course is an overview of the requirements of API Spec Q1. Based on API Specification Q1, Specification for Quality Programs for the Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industry, the course takes an informative look at the requirements, interpretations, and practical applications of the quality management principles used throughout the oil and natural gas industry. API Spec Q1 Training is designed to give you a thorough understanding of the oil and natural gas industry's quality assurance requirements.
